If you ever visited my etsy shop or seen me at an vendor event, then you know I make these cute African Fabric Draw String Pouches...
They may have started out as a sunglasses pouch but in reality they possibilities are endless. Here is a video highlighting 9 way to use 1 pouch.
The great thing about it being drawstring is that you can attach it to your bag. (Shoutout to the Bestie for this amazing photo)

I started this year out determined to complete my reading "2016 Reading Goal" list. Now it's June and I must say that I have got though a good portion on the list. I picked up Assata's book to start but life kept getting in the way of me actually finishing. Until recently that is. Now I cannot put this book down. It could be that everything I am reading just sounds like present day life. With the Blacklivesmatter movement and the constant fight for our rights, this is the book I think everyone should be reading. I knew back in April when I wrote my first post over at NoireCity titled "8 Quotes from "Assata: An Autobiography" Relevant Today, that this book was a must finish. This books shares insite on what happens to our people while behind jail. Could a book published in 1987 speak on things happening today? Yes and here's proof...
I was honored to be the Keynote speaker at my old high school. Below You can watch the speech or read it.
Starting out I must congratulate High School for the Teaching and the Professions on their 12th graduating class. Class of 2016 you did it. You have successfully completed all the necessary coursework to reach this marvelous occasion. Some may have ran across this finish line with their hands stretched high while others had to jump over a few hurdles along the way, but nevertheless you all did it. Today, you sit in the presence of your phenomenal principal, outstanding educators, proud parents, and motivated peers to whom much gratitude is given. It has been these nurturing relationships that has showed each and every single one of you, no matter how hard life might get, there is someone in your corner wanting to see you succeed. It gives me great honor to stand before the graduating class of 2016.
I am up to my 3rd college graduation so I like to think I know a few things about what's needed to survive college. Check out the list below to see if you are prepared for this new life journey.
In this video I used Maybelline FitMe Foundation, which I received in a Voxbox from Influester. I was nervous at first about picking out the right shade but to my surprise I got it right.
When Beyonce does a style you actually can recreate...you recreate it, duh. I saw her video and immediately created this inspired look. I mean its not everyday the Queen B drops a video rocking a style for us simpletons.
I went on a little "Motivational Rave" the other day on snapchat and thought it would be cool to share it on my youtube. I am a goal orientated person and to stay motivated I make sure I build my life around my interest.
I have been working with BET's B*real to create DIY craft videos. Below are all the videos we have made thus far.

I received this item for testing from the company. It's amazing how I had no idea that I really need one of these. I have asthma and allergies and reside in a NYC apartment. The air quality in my apartment is really dry in the winter. I have been using this item for about a week now and already have seen a difference in my skin and hair moisture. It is a tad bit noisy but not unbearable. I love that its automatic and you can just set and it let it be. I have high hopes for this product as the weather jobs and cold season approaches.
See what my amazing boyfriend and I did in Valentine's Day. It was a spontaneous and wonderful.
Here is a chance to see my makeup routine in this Get Ready With Me: Valentine's Day 2015
A quick visual of my two strand twist out take down. These twist are a week old. At night I just wear them in a pineapple style. They can last me up to 2 weeks by restyling the front.

When on the journey to clear skin it is important to work on the inside also. While researching products for a new skin regimen I learnt the importance of Vitamin C. (Read what Doctor Oz says here http://www.doctoroz.com/article/drop-decade-your-face) I came up with this recipe because I wanted something I could carry and drink through out the day.
(click items to find them in a store near you)
- Yogi Skin Detox Tea
- Emergen-C 1,000 mg Vitamin C Pink Lemonade
- Half An Orange
- Sugar (optional)
- Orange Juice (optional)
Follow the instruction provided on the tea bag to brew and steep a cup of Yogi Skin Detox Tea.
I love that each tea bag has a quote.
Add 1 pack of Emergen-C and stir until dissolved.
Look at those bubbles.
Slice half an orange.
Save the other half for tomorrow.
Add the orange slices and tea mixture to a travel container.
I keep add the tea bag to the container also.
Step 5 (optional)
Fill the rest of the container with water and sit it in the fridge. (I leave it overnight)
I like to add water because it is also good for clearing skin.
Step 6 (optional)
If the taste is not to you liking you can add a little sugar and/or orange juice.
*WARNING- the oranges sweeten the drink naturally. Do Not add sweaters before letting it sit in the fridge. Trust me... It will be too sweet.
This drink is also amazing for keeping you immune system strong during the winter.
Here is how I make my Spray Leave in Conditioner/ Detangler
You can substitute any of the products I used to your liking. Play around with your recipe. Everybody hair is different and what works for me may not work for you. I use this in my hair everyday so I run out rather quickly. I don't make a lot because I actually like to tweak my recipe each time depending on what my hair needs are.
