MSM (aka methylsulfonylmethane), is a sulfur-based compound that is naturally found in many foods such as milk, onions, garlic and green vegetables. The main ingredient in MSM is sulfur which is one of the principle building blocks of hair (and nails). So MSM helps hair growth because it gives your body a building block for hair. (info adopted from I brought this because it said it helps with healthy, skin and nails (who doesn't need that?) Also recently i heard MSM helps prevent Hair shedding.

Biotin (aka Vitamin H), this is the popular vitamin. It seems like everyone has heard of it.  is necessary for healthy hair growth. Studies have shown that lack of Biotin sources in your diet can cause hair loss and skin conditions. However, such deficiencies are rather rare and can be easily corrected with supplements and proper diet. Topically applied Biotin, like the shampoo you mentioned, will not help your hair grow. Folic Acid (aka folate or B9), this b complex vitamin promotes hair growth. It plays a key run in turning the food we eat into energy and aids it in processing and using these nutrients. When nutrients reach out hair, it enjoys proper growth, extra glow and shine. (adopted from
